NGEDEA Main

Projects

NGEDEA, in partnership with Engineers Without Borders - San Francisco Professional Chapter (EWB-SFP) have a project plan that will span 3-5 years. The multi-faceted project plan targets improvements in health and water in Ngelenge and the surrounding villages.

There are both immediate and future funding needs based on village input gathered during an assessment completed by EWB-SFP in September 2005. The major near-term funding priorities are:

  • Complete construction of health dispensary (Early 2006)

  • Provide community training on good health and hygiene practices (August 2006)

  • Rehabilitate shallow well to provide water for up to 500 people, construct two new shallow wells (August 2006)

  • Introduce affordable, low-tech irrigation systems to villagers and make available for purchase (May 2006 – October 2006)
